RADIOTHERAPY

As an approved salon for the NHS we are well versed in helping people through medical hair loss.

It is a common side effect of radiotherapy, but unlike hair loss during chemotherapy, it only causes hair loss in the area being treated. We have a great deal of experience in helping patients deal with partial hair loss and have many solutions to help you feel confident whilst going through your therapy.

CHEMOTHERAPY

Treatment for cancer can be a horrible and daunting process with one of the most upsetting side effects being the thought of dealing with the loss of your hair.

TRICHOTILLOMANIA

An impulse control disorder and often referred to as Trich or TTM, is hair loss caused by someone having an irresistible urge to pull out their own hair.

Most common in women, especially younger women, hair is usually pulled from the scalp, eyelashes and eyebrows.

As a disorder, there is little to no control over a person’s urge to pull, they can even do it in their sleep.

ALOPECIA

There are many types of alopecia and it does not always mean total hair loss. Hair can grow back sometimes, but often there is a cycle of loss. There are 7 types of alopecia:

Alopecia Totalis, Alopecia Universalis, Androgenetic Alopecia, Alopecia Areata, Diffuse Alopecia, Postpartum Alopecia and Traction Alopecia.

HAIR THINNING & MENOPAUSE

Hair thinning is common in women and not only a problem for men. Our hair can really shape who we are and when it is thin managing the ways we want to look can be hard. COVID-19 & CHRONIC ILLNESS

Covid-19 has proved to bring a surprising symptom with it, being hair loss caused, experts think by the peak in a high fever. Covid has been added to a long list of chronic illnesses that can cause hair loss. A traumatic event can also cause sudden loss of hair too sadly. Hair can grow back without any treatment usually, but it may be that you want to look at some temporary help to get through the thinning or patchy hair. We have seen more and more people visit us over the past 18 months and have a lot of experience in helping people deal with this temporary loss of hair.
